Dick Vethaak

Professor Dick Vethaak is a Marine Ecotoxicologist and Environmental Health Scientist specialising in the impacts of chemical pollutants and plastic debris.

Dick has a experience of working on ocean ecology, developing indicators for ocean ecosystem and human health, and assessing the impact of environmental stressors on ocean health and related human health issues.

Within SOPHIE he will be working on the Innovative Solutions and Future Scenarios projects, where he hopes to enhance understanding of the health risks and benefits of living by the sea.

Dick will also be working to connect environmentalists with the medical and public health sector.
